This probably isn’t the most gruesome thing that’s happened in the Keep, but it’s a close second.

[He shifts -- have a view of a purplish heart surrounded by blood the color of blueberry cobbler.]

[The wince is as automatic as the expression of sympathy; despite the fact that there's no proof that all these hearts in jars are hurting them by merely... being there, it seems whatever's affecting Jetfire's making him a lot more... sensitive than usual.]

Ah... interesting. There aren't many things that can colour blood blue while still remaining effective for transporting oxygen while in a air-dominated environment, though I haven't had much chance to study organic species and their particulars.

[Since they'd mostly passed through planets that weren't under Decepticon attack.]

The... emotional output... I am having less control and equilibrium than usual and there's a lack of balance... [For the first time he sounds vaguely annoyed, before he looks off-screen, expression going... nearly wounded as he stares at something... or somebody else out of view.]

Er. I... think... It has something to do with what this looks like. [A good view of the mechanical device in the jar, which is empty of liquid except what's leaking from it. Jetfire is aware something is off, since he does not handle, process, or prioritize emotion like organic beings do, but he can't do anything about it.]

Starscream's... who is okay, I'm relieved to know, doesn't do this. [A wave at the jar and the device, which is leaking its pretty glowing liquid.]

Yes -- that...looks problematic.

[Oh...let him get his gloved hands on thaaaaat.]

Not so much problematic as that there couldn't be enough fuel within it for it to continually be leaking as it is...

[Frown down at it. He doesn't want to open it, either, because who knows what that would do...]

... While I appreciate the offer of a second pair of eyes, I don't think... you know enough about Cybertronian inner working for this to, ah... make sense? A heart and, er, this don't, exactly, perform the exact same functions.

[And Jetfire sounds apologetic, too, as he says it. But he's a bit dubious about handing the jar over.]

Mmm, yes. I would assume this is either a... actual... [By the Matrix, he hopes it isn't. Wasn't the chopped off heads enough? Besides the faint distress at this, and Jetfire worriedly once again looking off-view to probably eye Starscream's jar, he's otherwise not picking up on Megamind's excitement.]

Either way... I... er. letting you have a look up close wouldn't hurt.

[Helmshake. What did he just agree to? Well, there was still no harm in letting Megamind look, and he was hardly one to deny some comparisons, conclusions and theories to be drawn and made.

Starscream's room, which is right beside mine... I can, ah, wait at the door. He would probably prefer to not have... er.. Company inside here.

[Jetfire briefly looks torn over whether he should be apologetic to Megamind for the potential rudeness, or guard Starscream's need for privacy. If he was fully in his right processor, he'd also admit that it had to do with Starscream's... behaviour.]
