This probably isn’t the most gruesome thing that’s happened in the Keep, but it’s a close second.

Could we be absolutely certain no one would be hurt or inconvenienced by such an activity? It seems like a worthwhile pursuit if you could get a good cross-sample, but...

[Jetfire might have been more evenly opposed to such an idea if only because of what seems to happen every now and then around the Keep, but today his concern isn't for practicalities, but the safety and comfort of anyone giving that heart up.]

It would be truly terrible if something happened to anyone who lent you their heart, or the... equivalent.

[Should a robot (or, well, an alien mechanoid) be able to look so soulfully concerned? Well, obviously it is possible, even if Jetfire doesn't usually... express himself that way, which might be explained by the mechanical device in its jar - barely seen at the edge of the picture - leaking some rather pretty irridiscent purplish-pink liquid.]

...Er. I'm not going to carve it up, if that's what you are concerned about, my dear over-sized mechanoid.

[That stunned look says that no, that thought hadn't (where it might actually usually come up) been thought of at all, but there's immediately a shift to Jetfire rubbing his cheek, looking upset.]

Ah, I... certainly hope not, but no. I was concerned whether merely taking them out would impact the hearts negatively... If that was what your comparison would entail?

[He would, after all, at the moment certainly not want to imply he thinks Megamind would do anything untoward; that would be terribly rude.]

I can do a completely analytical study without removing them.

[He shifts -- have a view of a purplish heart surrounded by blood the color of blueberry cobbler.]

[She gives an amused chuckle as she ducks into his room.]

Happy to have given you even a little bit of excitement.

[And then she's holding out her heart for him to take.]

I get my fix when I can, Ryn.

[Which means possibly kidnapping Tammy.

He reaches to clutch it eagerly, eyes alight.]

Oh just look at the biological differences-!

[Scurrying over to compare his and hers.]

[The wince is as automatic as the expression of sympathy; despite the fact that there's no proof that all these hearts in jars are hurting them by merely... being there, it seems whatever's affecting Jetfire's making him a lot more... sensitive than usual.]

Ah... interesting. There aren't many things that can colour blood blue while still remaining effective for transporting oxygen while in a air-dominated environment, though I haven't had much chance to study organic species and their particulars.

[Since they'd mostly passed through planets that weren't under Decepticon attack.]

I suppose I'll have to be living vicariously through your fixes.

[Ryn watches him take off with her jar heart, amused, and then hesitates as something changes.

She's not sure what, and she couldn't be pinpointing the differences if asked, but quite suddenly, whatever she's been feeling for Megamind makes sense. Ryn can't ever imagine being confused, not knowing exactly the way she felt about him.

There's a soft smile on her face as she steps up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist and peering over his shoulder.]

I love watching you work.

Well, not everyone can be as fabulous as me. But I suppose you come in a close second.

[He smirks at her over his shoulder, then pushes them both side by side, leaning to examine intently.

And then -- arms.

Her arms, specifically, around his waist and...and he's pretty sure that this is some kind of intimate gesture because he's observed it in other couples her eat the keep and he's REALLY SURE that they are usually together in some way shape or form.]

Ah. Ah. Well -- ah.

[It's...nice. Really nice.]

[There is something WRONG with the mech.]

Is everything...running properly, Jetfire?

I, think so yes... There have been no error messages, but thank you for the concern. [A pause as Jetfire smiles and then he rubs his face, briefly pinching his nasal ridge.]

The... emotional output... I am having less control and equilibrium than usual and there's a lack of balance... [For the first time he sounds vaguely annoyed, before he looks off-screen, expression going... nearly wounded as he stares at something... or somebody else out of view.]

Er. I... think... It has something to do with what this looks like. [A good view of the mechanical device in the jar, which is empty of liquid except what's leaking from it. Jetfire is aware something is off, since he does not handle, process, or prioritize emotion like organic beings do, but he can't do anything about it.]

Starscream's... who is okay, I'm relieved to know, doesn't do this. [A wave at the jar and the device, which is leaking its pretty glowing liquid.]

[She snorts in amusement.]

It's a second I'm glad to be having. One day I'll be closer to being as fabulous as you.

[Yes, Megamind, it's very much an intimate gesture. One she's not done in a romantic sense in a very, very long time, but it seemed to be the thing to do at the moment.

She loves him, obviously, and she's not done a whole lot to display that love. Really, it's been quite horrible of her.

Ryn chuckles at that.]

Of course. I've fawned over the end result often enough.

[But -- arms. Still locked around him. He's no stranger to physical contact thanks to being in the Keep and different people's desire to keep hugging him -- or kissing him, in Ryn's case.

But it's so incredibly random that Megamind is thrown off guard, and is...definitely mentally flailing a little.

He fidgets.]

Really. Fawned over. [He likes that term though, and he turns in her arms so he can look at her properly.]

You know, you're one of the only people that have ever truly appreciated my work. [The others being Bryn, Odette, and Minion.]

[Ryn doesn't notice his fidgeting, quite content to be this near to him, with her arms wrapped around him.

She's not sure why she ever thought she'd need any more than this, just holding him close, listening to him talk, watching him do what he does best.]

Mhmm. Fawned over, admired, coveted, contemplated stealing.

[Normally, that would make her chuckle, but at the moment, she's so in love with him that it upsets her a bit. She frowns, pressing closer to him now that he's turned to face her.]

That's because most people are fucking idiots.
